Fresh Thinking on IT Operations for 100,000 Industry Executives

Met up with a really nice chap for a Starbucks today, Dan Ilett who is a journalist (for the Financial Times) and a friend of Ewan MacLeod who runs SMS Text News.

Dan runs a great blog called Greenbang. Greenbang is all about green issues, not just green IT issues. Dan wanted to get some information for an article he is preparing for the Financial Times about Data Center cooling. Apparently, the word on the street is that I am a bit of a whiz on data center cooling so Dan wanted an insider view on what really matters. I am looking forward to the outcome.

I also heard the good news today from my friend and colleague Harqs Singh, BT’s Head of Data Center Strategy, that BT have now won a fourth industry award for the 21st Century Data Center Project, cool.

    Hi ,

Its interesting that going green was onced confined to cars and other more industrial businesses but even IT has gone green. Heat dissipation in computers has come to a new level. Blade servers at IBM centre is a very hot topic among the likes of HP and others as they seek to lower Co2 in computer data centres.

I have done some work on data centres and would love to contribute to the FT
