Steve

I have been thinking hard about this. Oracle are really committed to their own version of Linux - end - to - end support cut out the IBM and HP middlemen. I really can't see that changing much. Probably Larry will expand the Solaris Open Source stuff so that he can get more value from the Oracle stack and commoditize the hardware and storage. Hard one to call but a really good question. I plan to ask Oracle for clarification beyond the announcement that says all is well - we all know that is a holding position.

Steve, do you think more Sun customers will now push to move away from SPARC, in case Oracle decides to sells off this piece of the business? As you know, Solaris is supported on many platfroms, through the HCL certification suite, but the key getting ISVs to provide Solaris X86 products.
